New Year Message Video – Free After Effects Template

Why the square version?

The widescreen version (1920x1080px) is perfect for any video sharing sites such as YouTube or Vimeo but we’ve included a square format version (1080x1080px) which is better for playback on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

The reason for rendering a square format is that it fits better (larger) on mobile devices, specifically smartphones – which are normally held in a vertical orientation.

Videos are shrunk to their width, meaning that a square video will take up more room (therefore visibility) on someone’s phone as it will demand more height, too.
